Brogen OESTEA16500ZC is the lightweight, entry-level variant of the STEA16500Z 13T bus and trailer axle platform, engineered to deliver full torque capability with optimized cost and energy efficiency. Despite its lower motor output, it still achieves up to 16,500 N·m wheel-end torque through an expanded two-speed gearbox with 44:1 low and 15:1 high ratios, ensuring strong launch performance and stable high-speed cruising.
Powered by an 80/180 kW (rated/peak) motor, the axle is tuned for efficiency-focused applications while maintaining reliable drivability across urban, regional, and highway duty cycles. The wider gear spread compensates for reduced motor power, preserving gradeability and load performance under demanding conditions.
At just 678 kg in the 11.5T configuration, the OESTEA16500ZC is the lightest model in the platform family, improving payload capacity and reducing overall energy consumption. The axle supports 600A inverter systems and shares core housing and interface architecture with the ZA and ZB variants, enabling seamless OEM platform scalability.
The axle also offers disc or drum brake configurations and is designed to meet diverse regulatory and operational requirements across global bus and trailer applications.
